Oboes, English Horns and Clarinets!

Howarth Oboes, English Horns and Clarinets
are
hand crafted from
and are available in a choice
of
Grenadilla, Cocobolo, Violet wood
and high density synthetics, with a choice of
silver or gold keys.

All selected wood is at least 60 years old before it is ready to become the fillet
that is to be a Howarth. Seven years will pass from the time the wood is
harvested to the most labor intensive part of it’s creation. Each process is
staggered, allowing six months rest in between each stage.

Even after meticulous finishing and the instrument is ready to produce its first
musical sounds,
it will not be considered ready until after
it is
played and fine tuned over several days to weeks
by
Howarth’s expert managers
and
professional player/consultants.

Howarth has been producing Oboes for 50 years, yet they have blossomed
“anew” over the past two decades under the watchful eyes and committed
talents of Nigel Clark, John Pullen, Michael Britton
and clarinet designer, Jon Steward.

The builders at T.W. Howarth & Co.
have established themselves
as one of the world's
“finest and most exclusive craftsmen”
of
Oboes, English Horns and Clarinets.

Howarth XL Oboes and English Horns
made their 1996 debut in response
to the demands of the world’s best players.
These thicker walled instruments produce
a truly seductive depth of tone and color.

The Howarth XL Series
Oboes and English Horns
are the “creme de la creme” of the Howarth fare.

The Howarth S55 Series Oboes
and
S40 and S20 Series English Horns
are
entry level full professional instruments
providing a marvelous alternative
to the top of the line
XL Series
for oboists
whose current musical demands or budget merits
a more modest investment.

Howarth Professional “Bb” and “A” Clarinets
are available in models:

S2 with a bore of 14.75, providing
a truly rich, warm and even sound
over the entire range.

S3 which has a slightly narrower bore of 14.65
and provides a
more focused and direct quality sound.

Both models are exceptionally beautiful
and
uniquely elegant sounding and performing
clarinets!

Quite simply, “fantastic instruments”!
